MILAN: ORIGI TO MISS LEAGUE OPENER

Belgian striker Divock Origi is set to miss the first league game of the season due to injury. The former Lille and Liverpool star has endured a frustrating start to life at AC Milan on the back of his transfer this summer. Origi ended his eight-year spell at Liverpool this summer. He left the club at the end of his contract thus paving the way for him to sign for AC Milan as a free agent.

Milan will face fellow Italian side Venezia in a pre-season friendly game without new signing Origi in their squad due to injury.The Belgian international is the only major absentee for manager Pioli ahead of the friendly with Venezia who are in the Italian Serie B after they were relegated from the Italian Serie A at the end of last season.
